Energetix’s Pnu Power receives National Grid boost

ENERGETIX Group has said that it has received Type Registration from National Grid for use of its Pnu Power compressed air energy system.

This means that the Chester-based company will be allowed to use its systems across any part of the national grid where a requirement is identified.

The firm said that its Pnu Power 3kW system provides an alternative solution to conventional batteries for uninterpretable power supply and standby power applications which costs less to operate, is cheaper to maintain than conventional battery solutions and is consistently dependable.

Adrian Hutchings, chief executive officer of Energetix Group, said: “It is a real achievement for us to have reached this stage in the Type Registration process with National Grid and to have successfully come through such a rigorous testing regime demonstrates the credibility and track record that our Pnu Power products have.

“Type Registration should open up a huge commercial opportunity for the company across Europe, and globally, with one of the world’s leading Transmission System Operators and it will mark the second product from the Energetix stable to be successfully moved from development into a commercial product in the marketplace.”
