Nuclear conferences head to Manchester

THE European Nuclear Society has chosen Manchester as the destination for its both its five-day Top Fuel Conference and its European Nuclear Conference next year.

The society will host its five-day Top Fuel Conference at the Marriott Renaissance Manchester Hotel between 2-6 September, which will bring together specialist to analyse advances in nuclear fuel management technology.

Meanwhile, the society’s three-day annual conference and networking event will take place from 9 -12 December next year at the Manchester Central Convention Complex.

Paul Simpson, managing director of Visit Manchester, said: “This is a great example of local organisations working in partnership to bring world class conferences to the city and we’re delighted that the European Nuclear Society has chosen Manchester.

“The city has a proud history in nuclear science and engineering.”

“The Dalton Institute, part of the University of Manchester, is synonymous with innovative nuclear research and nearby Sellafield has played a central role in the history of the British nuclear industry.”
