Stanley House completes first phase of £15m expansion

LUXURY hotel Stanley House has undergone the first phase of its £15m development as it seeks to create a world class leisure destination in Lancashire.
The historic venue – which is in Mellor in the Ribble Valley – now has a new hotel entrance and has also doubled the size of ‘Mr Fred’s Lounge and Bar’ creating additional seating for 30 more diners.
Ribble Valley-based building contractor David Holmes Construction is also refurbishing the venue’s fine dining restaurant, Cassis.
The striking new entrance is part of an overall master plan which will see Stanley House build new entrances for each of the new facilities being created.
The 12-bedroomed hotel will eventually have an extra 40 bedrooms, a fitness centre, spa with eight personal treatment suites and an 18m swimming pool as part of the £15m investment.
The three-year project, backed by English Heritage, intends to transform Stanley House Hotel into one of the most comprehensive leisure and conferencing destinations in the North West.
Stanley House general manager, Oliver Cooke said: “This is an exciting time for Stanley House Hotel, and we are delighted to be in the final stages of completion for the first phase.
“I will be sending personal invitations to all friends of Stanley House when all will be revealed at a special event in the middle of June.
“I am very confident the new look will be well received and win us many more friends.”
Stanley House Hotel won ‘Small Hotel of the Year’ at the Enjoy England for Excellence Awards in 2007.
