LPA receivers appointed to North Wales country estate

PROPERTY agent David Currie has been appointed as Law of Property Act (LPA) receiver of an 11-acre country estate in Caernarfon, North Wales.

The Plas Brereton Estate, estimated to be worth in excess of £1m, overlooks the Menai Straits and consists of a manor house, a disused railway line, stables, dairy, other outbuildings and a private dock complete with dock keeper’s cottage.

The site has potential for conversion into a leisure business and has previously been been given permission to be developed as a hotel and leisure complex.

David Currie’s eponymous practice was acquired in July this year by Blackburn-based asset recovery and insolvency support group Winterhill Largo. It specialises in the disposal of distressed property assets, often acting as LPA receivers.

“The Plas Brereton property is one of the more unusual appointments we see as LPA receivers, and the views from the river banks and its proximity to the famous town of Caernarfon, make the site of great interest to developers and hotel companies, despite its need for complete renovation,” said LPA receiver David Currie.
