Backford Hall Estate for sale

CHESHIRE West and Chester Council has put the Grade II-listed Backford Hall Estate up for sale.
The 23.8 acre estate featuring a 17,000 sq ft hall which was previously home to the council’s own headquarters, is on the market with property agents Colliers.
The estate includes an office complex of about 100,000 sq ft built around the 17,000 sq ft, Grade II-listed Backford Hall, which was previously the council’s own headquarters.
Other buildings on the estate include a lodge, stable block and barn and an old brick building at the main entrance on Gordon Lane. The estate also features woodland, 12 acres of farmland, a pond and boat house.
There is also lots of car parking available and access via Church Lane and Gordon Lane, which links directly to the A41 Liverpool Road.
Mike Brassington, a director of Colliers’ UK Development Consulting and Agency team, said the site and buildings have existing use for offices but suitable alternative uses include residential, hotel, retirement home, elderly care or educational – subject to the necessary listed building and planning consents.
No guide price has been set on the estate and the council is offering it for sale on an informal tender basis.
