FD Awards to recognise young talent

THE North West Finance Director of the Year Awards will celebrate young talent in the region at the inaugural awards ceremony.

Finance directors under the age of 40 who have made significant contributions to their companies are being invited to enter the North West FD of the Year Awards.

Judges are looking for candidates showing maturity beyond their years and will consider the following criteria; business acumen; commitment to personal growth; strategic management and creativity and innovation

Matthew Ingram, partner at Squire Sanders Hammonds in Manchester said: “Young business leaders are responsible for the future of the economy and its therefore important that new talent is rewarded.

“This award allows us to recognise key individuals who have the potential to drive the success of the region for years to come.  We have met some outstanding individuals so far who are delivering excellent results for their respective businesses in a difficult ecomomic climate and it is very pleasing to see such a talented group of people operating in the North West.”

The Young Finance Director of the Year is one of seven awards, the other categories are:

•best finance director of a plc;
•best finance director of a Ltd company (up to £50m turnover);
•best finance director of a Ltd company (over £50m turnover);
•best finance director of a private equity company;
•outstanding achievement award.
