Dutch exit may spark Urenco sale

THE Dutch Government is preparing to offload its stake in Urenco, according to reports.
The company, which is based at Capenhurst, near Chester, makes enriched uranium. The Dutch government owns a third of the business, the UK government owns another third and the remainder is owned by German energy companies RWE and EON.
The firm is said to have appointed advisors with a view to engineering a float or a sale of the business, with the latter considered the more likely option. A price tag of up to £3bn has been mooted.
