Inventive looks east with bar deal

REVOLUTION Vodka Bar owner Inventive Leisure has expanded its portfolio with the acquisition of three new bars.

The business, based in Ashton-under-Lyne, has acquired the Orgasmic cafe bar chain which has venues in Norwich, Lincoln and York.

Inventive bought the business from Norwich entrepreneur Laura Holt who set up the chain in 2001. She told the Eastern Daily Press that Inventive had been planning to have a presence in Norwich, “for quite some time”.

Inventive’s marketing director Carl Morris could not be reached for comment regarding the deal. The business is still owned by the private equity house Alchemy Partners which took the business private in a £42.5m deal four years ago.

Established in 1991 by Roy Ellis and Neil Macleod, the company floated in 2000 with 21 outlets. It now has around 60 spread across the UK.
