Lawyer brews up business idea

LAWYER Mike Hymanson is to open a Manchester franchise of the Bury-based tea shop, Leckenby’s.

Mr Hymanson, who was one of the founding partners of Manchester-based Lewis Hymanson Small, is launching the venture next Wednesday, November 30 on King Street West opposite the popular San Carlo restaurant.

He will run the business alongside his sons Barry and Howard, who had previously worked in law and media sales respectively. It will employ 30 staff.

Mr Hymanson said the Manchester outlet would build on the success of the existing business in Bury, which has been open for 12 years.

“We are thrilled to introduce this concept to the city,” he said. “The existing tea rooms in Bury gives great gravitas to the Leckenby’s brand and we know our fusion of a good menu and vibrant atmosphere means it will transfer seamlessly to the city centre.”

Funding has been provided by Royal Bank of Scotland.
