DELTA Plastics has landed a contract to fit 600 windows made at Veka’s plant in Burnley into the first “passive housing” estate built in the UK.
The estate, in Dorset, is based on a German concept where houses are triple-glazed and heated purely through body heat and that given off by possessions.
Delta’s MD Philip Chick said: “We have worked with Lomand Homes, the developer, on several smaller jobs in the past and they were always pleased with the quality of our materials and workmanship. It was on this basis that they asked us to tender for the project.
“The development is still in progress and, to date, we have fitted approximately 150 triple-glazed windows, a dozen French doors and several composite doors. Upon completion, we will have fitted in excess of 600 windows.”
