Appointments: Morgan Sindall makes key hire; Birchall Blackburn & more

CONSTRUCTION group Morgan Sindall has made a senior addition to its top team with the appointment of Jayne Hettle as its director of education.

Based in Liverpool, her role will be to develop the firm’s national programme of building for schools, colleges and universities.

She is former assistant director of regeneration at Liverpool City Council, where major regeneration projects, asset management, BSF and capital development and strategic investments were part of her role.

Originally from  the West Midlands, Hettle was previously head of regeneration at Wolverhampton City Council.

She says: “The new role at Morgan Sindall represents a wonderful opportunity for me personally and I’m delighted to have joined an organisation which I know from my own professional experience places such a great emphasis on customer satisfaction.

BIRCHALL Blackburn Solicitors, has appointed Paul Tyrer as its head of corporate and commercial  – a new offering from the firm.
 
Tyrer joins the Preston-based firm from Midlands-based Bowcock & Pursaill and returns to the North West where he previously worked for George Davies Solicitors in Manchester.

He has more than 15 years’ experience in the corporate deals market, and also regularly acts on behalf of banks and other commercial lenders in secured lending transactions.

Based in Birchall Blackburn’s Manchester office, he says: “This is an exciting opportunity and opens up new avenues for the firm, and I very much look forward to working with the team.”

SANDY McBride has moved south to lead housebuilder Redrow’s North West division.

Previously the company’s managing director in Scotland, he has transferred to its UK headquarters at Ewloe, Flintshire.

He’s now in charge of Redrow Homes (NW), which currently has developments in Wrexham, Northop and Buckley in North Wales, as well as Wirral, Cheshire and South Manchester.

He will also continue to look after ‘legacy’ issues for Redrow north of the border, after Redrow closed its Scottish business in June this year.

EXPRESS Solicitors, the Manchester personal injury firm, has appointed Gavin Redman as its new business development manager.
 
Redman, who joins from Stockport firm SAS Daniels, will work with partners and fee earners to grow the business and oversee all marketing including web, social media, PR and advertising.
