LDC invests in engineering business

THE North West office of private equity firm LDC has backed a secondary buyout of a mechanical engineering business with operations at Fiddlers Ferry power station in Cheshire.
LDC director John Garner, who joined the team earlier this year from the firm’s Nottingham office, led the investment on PJD Group, which is based in Castle Donnington, Leicestershire.
The deal is funded from the firm’s new £200m funding pot for manufacturing and specialist engineering investments.
PJD’s North West operation undertakes major outage work at Fiddlers Ferry near Warrington, which is operated by Scottish and Southern Energy.
John Garner, who has joined the company’s board said: ““In PJD, we are backing a market leading business which is well placed within each of its key sectors to deliver strong organic and acquisitive growth.
“LDC is fully committed to supporting the expansion of our portfolio companies and, by working closely alongside PJD’s highly experienced management team, we intend to target strategic acquisitions to help accelerate the company’s growth prospects in existing and new market sectors.”
