Home Bargains wins at Grocer Gold Awards

LOW cost retailer TJ Morris, the name behind Home Bargains, has scooped a prestigious award in this year’s Grocer Gold Awards.
The privately-owned Liverpool firm has scooped the prestigious ‘Discount Retailer of the Year’ award.
The ceremony, which took place last Wednesday at the Guildhall in London, was attended by representatives from some of the UK’s biggest brands, including ASDA, Waitrose and Cadbury.
Joe Morris, operations director at TJ Morris, said: “This has been an outstanding year for the company, both in terms of business growth and in the recognition we’ve received for our achievements.”
TJ Morris – which has a principal aim of selling branded goods at the lowest prices – currently has over 200 stores and employs over 5,000 people.
Mr Morris added: “After an incredibly successful year, we’re confident that Home Bargains will continue to go from strength-to-strength.
“We have a number of exciting plans in the pipeline – including opening 40-50 stores and recruiting up to 2,000 more staff.”
