Savvy shoppers boost Cheshire Oaks sales

THE giant Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet near Ellesmere Port has reported year-on-year sales and footfall increases of 14% and 4%  respectively.

The shopping centre, which is home to 145 stores, many premium and designer names, said the festive trading period, from November 7 to December 31 , had been boosted by the arrival of Hugo Boss, Jigsaw and Armani.

During December year-on-year sales and footfall were up 16% and 8% respectively, as shoppers sought fashion and gifts.

Deputy centre manager Mark Schofield, said: “Many brands from accessories to cosmetics and designer fashion, reported strong sales this festive shopping period.

“The centre offers a great mix of brands such as L’Occitane, Molton Brown, Links of London, Armani, Hugo Boss and Tag Heuer, which all saw shoppers in their droves treating themselves, and friends and family to savings of up to 60%.”

McArthurGlen, the US company which owns Cheshire Oaks and six other shopping centres in the UK, said it saw two “record breaking” post-Christmas days on 27th and 28th December, where sales increased by near double digit growth following increases of over 22% in the previous year.
