Bailey on his bike for Chethams appeal

RICHARD Bailey, one of the North West’s leading figures in corporate finance, is getting on his bike in a bid to raise £50,000 for Chetham’s School of Music’s Raise The Roof appeal.
Mr Bailey, the Manchester-based chairman of NM Rothschild’s regional business, is embarking on a 10-day 1,000 mile trip from Dubrovnik in Croatia to Portofino, Italy.
He is undertaking the challenge with a number of other leading business people and financiers including David Suddens, chief executive of footwear company Dr Martens, fashion designer Jeff Banks , Internet entrepreneur Andrew Johnson and Charles Thompson of private equity firm Inflexion.
He has been a governor and trustee of Chetham’s for the last seven years. The word-famous school needs to raise £1m as part of an ambitious £36m redevelopment.
Mr Bailey, who describes his trek as “summer madness” said: “All of the money raised will go to the charity. Support would be very greatly appreciated by me and of course by the School.”
