PR firm Citypress toasts deal success

CITYPRESS, the Manchester PR company, is celebrating a top 10 ranking in corporate finance advisory.

 

According to the data from mergermarket, Citypress is the only firm to feature in its top 10 table that isn’t based in London.

 

The consultancy’s corporate practice advised on 26 transactions during 2011– eight more than last year – with a total value of over £1bn, placing it 10th in the UK and 17th in Europe by deal count.

 

Its long-standing relationship with mid-market private equity house LDC is one of the major factors behind its move up the rankings.

This included the recent sale of retailer American Golf to Sun European Partners, while another client and Lyceum Capital has recently invested in food chain EAT.

 

Citypress director Martin Currie, said: “Last year we continued to develop our presence across the UK regions with new offices in Birmingham and Edinburgh, which has enabled us to tap into a bigger pipeline of M&A activity.

 

“We’ve also remained focused on our core mid-market capability, advising both private equity funds targeting this area of the economy and mid-sized corporates looking  to expand through acquisition.”
