Ink firm makes its mark on Heywood

INK manufacturing company INX International is to open a new manufacturing unit at Hareshill Distribution Park in Heywood, near Rochdale.

The US-based company, which operates from around 50 locations worldwide, has just gained planning consent for a new 40,000 sq ft unit, which will become its new headquarters once the lease expires on its existing premises at Transpennine Trading Estate in 2013. It was advised by consultancy Indigo Planning.

The new unit will be 75% larger than its current building and will keep 68 jobs in the area, as well as the potential to create further new positions in the future.

Nick Fillingham, associate at Indigo Planning, said: “Hareshill Distribution Park’s location, transport links and the opportunity to own and occupy the site were important considerations for INX International and secures its future in Rochdale.

“Expansion here will ensure local jobs stay in the area as well as providing more positions as the company grows.”

Jonathan Ellaby, VP of International Operations at US-based INX International, said: “I was impressed with the way Indigo processed the application and the way they kept us informed of progress every step of the way. I am excited by this new development and look forward to seeing INX international grow further still in the Rochdale area.”

INX International has acquired the site for its new plant from Peel Land & Property, It has been advised by Preston O’Herlihy and CAD Architecture.
