Byotrol teams up with McBride

BYOTROL, the North West company pioneering technology to kill bacteria such as MRSA and E.coli, is developing a domestic cleaning fluid with McBride.

The Manchester business said its joint venture, Byotrol Consumer Products, has signed the agreement to work on a hard surface cleaner to be targeted at consumer markets in the UK and Ireland.

Under the terms of the deal both companies will develop and jointly market the product this year. Once this programme is finished the two firms plan to enter into a licence agreement to jointly supply the product to retailers.

McBride is one of the UK’s largest manufacturers of own-label toiletries and household products for large retailers and has factories in Manchester and Warrington.

Chief executive Gary Millar said: “The agreement with McBride is further evidence of progress in our strategy of partnering with significant suppliers and specialist distributors to our target sectors, whilst also providing additional endorsement of the technology. 

“McBride is well recognised in Europe as one of the major forces in the private label market, and is found in all leading retailers. This gives Byotrol a considerable lead into this sector.”
