NW Business Masters 2012: North West Pride award

COMPANIES and individuals which demonstrate dedication, commitment and passion for their local communities or charities, will be recognised in the 2012 North West Business Masters Awards.

Our North West pride award will showcase and celebrate the the most meaningful philanthropic initiative by a business, organisation or leader in the region.

Last year’s North West Pride Award was won by Michael Oglesby, the founder and chairman of North West property company Bruntwood – who both through his business and personal charitable foundation – has supported numerous good causes in the region.

Since 2000 the Oglesby Charitable Trust has made grants of approximately £3.5m to scores of charities and community initiatives, while Manchester-based Bruntwood donates 10% of its profits every year.

In addition, last November Mr Oglesby and his wife Jean received a special award from Prince Charles for their contribution to the arts.

Other notable contenders to the 2011 awards were listed consumer good manufacturer PZ Cussons and Opal Property Group.
