Property shorts: Calderpeel honour; Hat-trick for The Rock

ALTRINCHAM artictects practice Calderpeel has been awarded the overall design award by Trafford Council for its work on a residential scheme in Hale.
The council panel chose The Lillies on South Downs Drive in Hale as the overall winner in the competition.
The panel commended the designers for the “outstanding modelling and use of materials, the subtleties of design of each elevation and its contribution to the street scene and its sympathy with the character of this part of the borough”.
Trafford Council’s Design Awards were launched to recognise the quality of many new buildings across the borough.
Tom Mulroy, an architect at Calderpeel said: “It’s important a local planning authority recognises the impact of design to enhance the borough and develop individual sites on their own merit. We’ve been developing our designs over a number of years and hope to improve even further in the future.”
