US bank chief visits NW operation

THE global chief executive of Bank of America Brian Moynihan has visited the institution’s Chester base as part of a European fact-finding tour.

Mr Moynihan spoke to the bank’s 4,000 staff at the Chester office, which is a key location for its Europe Card Services business.

Bank of America Europe Card Services, which operates under the MBNA brand and is Chester’s largest employer.

Mr Moynihan, who was appointed last December, said: “I was delighted to have the opportunity to visit Chester and meet and talk with some of our associates in the card business.

“Listening to them helps us hone our strategy and improve the products and services we provide to our customers. My view is, when we help customers build financial strength, we will win more business. That’s why we work to put our customers’ financial needs at the centre of everything we do.”

Ian O’Doherty, Europe Card executive for Bank of America, said: “We’re honoured that Brian made the time to visit us in Chester; it is a visit that reinforces the importance Europe Card Services has within the broader Bank of America business.”

Bank of America is the second-largest bank in the US by market capitalisation.
