Mining specialists prospect for new work

A TEAM from Cobbetts which has specialised in helping overseas mining firms raise cash from investors by listing their shares on the London Stock Exchange is to join Canadian firm Gowlings.

Andrew Wright and Charles Bond will leave at the end of the month.

Daniel O’Gorman, head of Cobbetts’ equity capital markets team, said: “We are sorry that Andrew and our colleagues are leaving and wish them the best of luck with their new global venture. 

“Cobbetts’ equity capital markets team has a leading reputation for its work in advising both UK and international companies seeking admission to and to raise funds on the UK’s capital markets which we are looking forward to build on and develop over the coming months.”

Andrew Wright said: “The departure of the members of the natural resources team is entirely amicable; we have been privileged to work with our colleagues and friends at national law firm Cobbetts for many happy years.

“We are only leaving because of the truly global reach of Gowlings in natural resource public market work. Given the complementary specialisms of the two firms, I am sure there will be many opportunities to work together in the future.”
