Co-op’s property chief banks new role

THE Co-operative Group is losing its property chief, Lynda Shillaw, to LLoyds Banking Group.

Ms Shillaw, managing director of Co-operative Estates and the leading figure in the Manchester-based group’s new headquarters project, is to join Lloyds TSB Corporate Markets as managing director of corporate real estate. She will take up her new role in October.

She said: “This is a crucial time for many property businesses and developers and an exciting time to be joining Lloyds Banking Group.  I am delighted to have been given the opportunity to take on this role.”

She joined the Co-operative from BT in July 2006. Chief executive Peter Marks commented:  “Lynda has made a significant contribution to driving our business forward in very exciting and challenging times.

“It was with mixed emotions that she accepted Lloyd’s offer but I completely understand and respect her desire to accept this outstanding opportunity.”

Earlier this week marketing director Patrick Allen announced that he was leaving his role to seek a fresh challenge.
