LateRooms checks into The Peninsula

ONLINE hotel booking firm LateRooms has chosen its new North West home, and will move to Rainy City Development’s The Peninsula building in the autumn.

Chris Morris, chief executive of the fast-growing company told TheBusinessDesk in March that a new location was needed because it had outgrown the Deva Centre, its home since its launch a decade ago.

LateRooms.com – along with its sister companies AsiaRooms.com and Hotels-London.co.uk – will be taking occupancy of the top three floors, a total area of around 36,000 sq ft.

Mr Morris, who is also MD of parent company TUI Travel’s Business to Consumer division said: “LateRooms.com has been one of Manchester’s success stories over the past 10 years, and we’re committed to keeping the business in the city where it all began.

“From small beginnings of just six people, LateRooms.com now has over 350 staff working in Manchester and we’re delighted to be moving into The Peninsula, a fantastic new office that will give us the space we need to develop and grow.”

The deal was conducted by property agents Cushman and Wakefield.

A spokesman for the firm said: “We are delighted to have concluded the deal. The Peninsula meets all of LateRooms.com’s requirements and this scale of letting is a triumph for the Manchester property market.”

LateRooms.com will join employment law advisers Peninsula Business Services in the 12-storey building on Cheetham Hill Road when staff begin to relocate in early October.  Workplace specialists TSK will be designing and delivering the new offices.
