Chairman of James Fisher’s defence arm departs

JAMES Fisher & Sons has announced that the chairman of its defence division, Simon Harris, is to step down to “pursue a number of business opportunities outside the company”.

Mr Harris has worked for the business for eight years – he was appointed as managing director of James Fisher Defence in January 2005 and then became chairman of the division in 2009. He has said on the company’s main board since August 2005.

Executive chairman Tim Harris said:  “Simon has made a considerable contribution to James Fisher in building our defence team to become the world leader it is today. Simon leaves with our thanks and best wishes for the future.”
