Tributes paid to events entrepreneur Marcie Incarico

Marcie Incarico RIP

Tributes have been paid to events entrepreneur Marcie Incarico who has died after suffering from cancer.

A partner of theBusinessDesk.com in many events over the years, she set up her venture Out There Events in 2001. More recently, she also entered the publishing world with Mix Media, which covered the interiors sector.

Her husband Martin Mongan posted a heartbreaking tribute to her this afternoon (13 May 2024): “My beautiful wife, and Luigi and Bella’s incredible Mum, lost her battle with cancer on Sunday. She leaves us with broken hearts but with lives enriched by her presence. She was my inspiration for 34 years and I know she had the same impact on many others.

“Her hard work, determination and meticulous attention to detail ensured she built in Mix Interiors a very successful business she was immensely proud of. But it’s the human impact that Marcie had on others that she also should have been proud of, but quite often struggled to recognise. With her straight forward approach, generally littered with expletives and masses of humour, she could captivate a room within seconds of arriving.

“She leaves a huge hole in our lives but we are all better for having known the phenomenon that was the beautiful and awe inspiring Marcella Incarico.”

Former editor Chris Barry, who worked with her on many events for TheBusinessDesk.com said: “Marcie was great to work with over the years- fun, kind and warm. There was always a great welcome and big smile at the office at Abito.”

Ziara Siddique, founder of This Is Manchester Awards said: “I am so so sorry to hear this news. I first met Marcie at Metro Radio up in Newcastle with Sapna Pieroux when we all worked in radio together.”

Author Andy Spinoza said: “Such a tragedy. I worked with Marcie on the Big Chip Awards probably 15 years ago. The partnership went on for a few years. She could really light up a room and I loved her straightforward approach!”
