FreshStart appoints ex-City broker as CEO

PROPERTY development group FreshStart Living has appointed a former City broker Charlie Cunningham as chief executive to lead it to a proposed AIM flotation.

Mr Cunningham, aged 33, joins the Salford-based company from his role as a corporate finance director at finnCap, the independent stockbroking firm which he co-founded in 2004.

The Eton-educated executive will relocate his family to Cheshire from Hertfordshire to prepare FSL for flotation on the London Stock Exchange’s Alternative Investment Market (AIM).

He has advised about 50 companies on more than 100 deals over the past eight years including 30 IPOs and specialises in fast growing companies.

His arrival at FreshStart follows the firm’s appointment last year of flotation consultants Holland Bendelow Consulting Group to advise on the potential IPO. The group says it may list this year when market conditions are right.

Mr Cunningham said: “I am hugely excited by the prospect of leading FreshStart Living into its planned flotation and new life as a quoted company.

“The business model has great potential for growth and I am confident I can use my eight years of experience of working with growing businesses to demonstrate the true value of FSL to the market.

“The rapid rate of sustainable growth achieved by FSL reflects that of finnCap rising from a standing start to market leader in a short period of time.

“FreshStart is helping to address one of the major problems blighting the UK residential property market by providing affordable homes to first-time buyers.”
