Forrest completes £2m Chorley job

PRESTON-based social housing contractor Forrest has just completed a £2m contract for Places for People.

The six-month programme at Lancaster Court, near Chorley, saw Forrest refurbish more than 70 apartments as well as completing window, heating and roofing work in several other properties.

The contract was part of Places for People’s major works framework to provide planned and cyclical maintenance for more than 1,000 of its properties across the North West.

Places for People was set up in 1965 and now owns or manages more than 62,000 homes across more than 200 different local authority jurisdictions.

Lee McCarren, chief executive at Forrest, said: “People for Places has an ethos similar to our own when it comes to caring for the communities in which we work.

“This project has progressed smoothly thanks to our engagement with residents which has allowed us to stick to the short timeframe.”

Forrest is backed by private equity firm LDC.
