New deals boost occupancy at Widnes business park

DEVELOPER St Modwen has said that a spate of new lettings at the second phase of its Heron Business Park at Widnes waterfront means it is now 70% full.

Some 34,000 sq ft of space has now been let at the £5.9m scheme, while 10,000 sq ft has been sold to buyers. This means 14 of the units are now occupied, with five remaining available.

The business park is a joint venture between St Modwen and Halton Borough Council.

In total, Heron Business Park has 125,000 sq ft of space – 74,287 sq ft of which has been delivered in the second phase.

New tenants include metal catalyst manufacturer CatAlloy Ltd, Click Internet Sales and biodiesel specialist Fuller-Fuel.

Michael Hosie, development manager at St. Modwen, said: “We’re delighted to see companies choosing Widnes as the preferred location to trade from and the continued demand is testament to the work St. Modwen and our partners at the council have put into regenerating it as a key business district.

Halton Borough Council Leader Cllr Rob Polhill said: “Heron Business Park has proved very popular with its excellent location and high quality units, and with the ongoing regeneration of Widnes Waterfront we are confident this will continue.”
