HCA submits outline planning for Cottam Hall site

AN outline planning application for the development of a further 1,100 homes at Cottam Hall in north west Preston has been submitted by the Homes & Communities Agency (HCA).

The HCA said the application had been submitted following consultation with local residents, Preston City Council and Lancashire County Council.

It said the consultation helped revise a comprehensive masterplan for this 10-15 year scheme, for which a developer is currently being sought.

New features introduced have including sites for potential new community facilities, serviced allotments, greenlinks and cycleways to neighbouring Miller Green and improved transport links.

Deborah McLaughlin, executive director for the North West at the HCA said: “Cottam Hall has the potential to bring huge benefits to Preston through the variety and type of new housing, community facilities, local transport links and high quality public realm.

The first phase to be developed will be the “Site K” at Cottam Way. Some 30% of properties developed on the site will be affordable homes.
