Appointments: UKFast promotes; Fulton in at Yorkshire & more

MANCHESTER Internet company UKFast has made a number of key appointments and promotions.
They include Stuart Coulson, who has moved from head of special projects to the newly-created role of director of data centres and Darren Taylor who has been promoted from manager to director of research and development.
Solicitor David Redford-Crowe has become the company’s first general counsel and will set up an in-house legal department at the City Tower-based organisation. He previously worked in-house at Orange, the mobile telecoms giant.
Meanwhile former business journalist Elizabeth Donevan has been promoted to PR Manager after a year spent with the firm as a features writer.

YORKSHIRE Bank has appointed experienced banker Tony Fulton to head up its business development team in the region.
He joins Yorkshire Bank following a spell as a business development director for Santander across the North and more than 30 years at Barclays, where he spent six years leading its commercial banking team in Manchester.
In his new role, Tony will lead business development activity for Yorkshire Bank’s business and private banking teams at its Manchester Financial Solutions Centre (FSC) in Spring Gardens, as well as co-ordinating a new customer acquisition focus across the wider North West.
Brian Colquhoun, regional director for Yorkshire Bank, said: “Tony brings a great deal of banking experience, a proven business development track record and breadth of professional contacts to the role.”
Mr Fulton added: “I have been hugely impressed with Yorkshire Bank’s business model and the people and culture of the organisation. By building and strengthening relationships with new and existing customers, and professional intermediaries, I look forward to helping the bank support businesses across a wide range of sectors.”

THE Holiday Inn Express hotel on Oxford Road, Manchester, has appointed Polish-born Greg Ibrom as a guest service manager. He has spent the last 11 years in the US was previously employed as assistant general manager at the Travelodge by the Bay, San Francisco.
Waseem Akhtar has also been appointed as night manager and joins the hotel from the Holiday Inn Manchester West.

JOHN McLaughlin, 42, has now taken over as general manager at Hilton’s Manchester Deansgate hotel.
A Glaswegian, who has moved from a Hilton in Reading, he said: “I am delighted to join the team and I look forward to making my mark and building upon the success that Bernadette Gilligan has already achieved for the hotel.”
His predecessor Bernadette Gilligan left the 340-bed Manchester hotel last month to take up a new role at a much larger London property.
