Premex boosts ExamWorks’ revenues

PREMEX, the Bolton-based medico-legal reports provider, continued to grow last year after its  £66m acquisition by US group ExamWorks.

The company, acquired last May by New York Stock Exchange-listed group ExamWorks, increased revenues by  8.4% to $91.7m, while a further 15 staff were hired during the year, taking employee numbers to 262.

Premex Group, which is based at Middlebrook near the Reebok Stadium, has a number of businesses.

Premex Services provides more than 140,000 medico-legal reports a year, while its Accuro arm specialises in digital transcription, dictation and outsourced typing.

Insight investigates claims in the insurance and litigation sectors and 3D aids the claims management process.

Premex Services managing director Donald Fowler said: “Premex’s performance has contributed to a strong set of results and continues to demonstrate a  shared commitment on both sides of the Atlantic to delivering industry leading services levels by providing customers with innovative, technology driven services.”

 
ExamWorks announced total pro-forma revenues of $483.2m and adjusted ebitda of $80.7m for the same period.

Richard E. Perlman, executive chairman of ExamWorks, said: “2011 was a year of significant transformative growth, driven primarily by the acquisitions of MES and Premex. ExamWorks has now established itself as the global leader in the IME (Independent Medical Examinations) marketplace.
