Proventec sells cleaning products firm

STEAM cleaning technology business Proventec has announced the sale of its Contico cleaning products subsidiary to distributor Robert Scott & Sons for an undisclosed sum.

Liverpool-based Proventec, which de-listed its shares from AIM last week but remains on the European Alternext market, said the sale was in line with its strategy of disposing of non-core businesses.

Contico is based at Redruth, Cornwall, and provides general cleaning products and janitorial equipment.  

The money generated will be invested in the core business.
Chief executive David Chestnutt said: “The board continues to follow our strategy of exiting non-core investments. 

“We remain committed in maximising shareholder value and the disposal of Contico allows us to focus our efforts on achieving this.”
