Trade mission bangs Caribbean drum

COMPANIES from the Caribbean island of Trinidad and Tobago will be in Manchester today to explore trade opportunities.
The delegates, who range from the makers of Angostura bitters to Trinidad Cement, will meet businesses from across the city region.
The visit has been organised by Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce and the Trinidad And Tobago Chamber of Industry and Commerce.
Lynn Shaw, head of the chamber’s international trade team, said: “Trinidad and Tobago is the UK’s largest export market in the Caribbean and I’m delighted that the delegates have chosen to visit the North West.
“This is a great opportunity for Greater Manchester businesses to find out about trade opportunities and make new contacts.”
VIP guests at the event will include Garvin Nicholas, the UK High Commissioner for Trinidad and Tobago, and Martin Douglas OBE, President of Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce. The event will take place on between 11.15am and 3pm at the North West International Trade Centre in Trafford Park.
