Acquisition drives growth at Provexis

NUTRTIONAL products company Provexis has announced that sales in its Science in Sport business have continued to grow since it bought the business last June.
The company said that like-for-like sales were now 13% higher than when it acquired the business and that a new sales and marketing push would begin to drive sales further.
A brand and packaging redisign has already been undertaken and will begin to appear in the market in April. A new marketing director has also been recruited from within the sports nutrition sector and a new campaign will begin featuring sponsorship of endurance sports teams and athletes, with accompanying advertising and social media campaigns.
The firm has also completed its move into a new manufacturing and distribution facility in Nelson, east Lancashire, where two new manufacturing lines are currently being installed to meet a forecasted increase in demand. The firm also said that a “wide-ranging” margin improvement programme was underway, with savings being reinvested in sales and marketing.
The firm said that a neumber of products would also be launched from April, including a new gel format and new Science in Sport drinks containing Provexis’s proprietary Fruitflow technology were likely to appear in late summer.
Chief executive officer Stephen Moon said: “We have developed all areas of the SiS business in recent months, from opening a new factory to enhance margins and provide new capacity, through to a complete transformation of the marketing strategy to realise the potential of this highly-regarded elite sports nutrition brand.
“The existing SiS management team has been strengthened, particularly in the area of sales and marketing. We are developing a long-term innovation pipeline to underpin our reputation as leaders in the field, with the first products to be in market in April.
“With this new platform in place, the management team are positive about growth prospects for the coming financial year.”
