NCS pitches in to help golf club

NORTH WEST energy management company NCS has helped Kendal Golf Club slash its electricity and gas bills.
The £7m turnover company based near Kendal and with an operations centre in Cheadle, Stockport, completed a major energy saving project for the club.
It is now achieving a reduction in consumption of 21% on electricity and 41% on gas, providing a return on investment in 18 months.
NCS assisted Kendal Golf Club to obtain funding via the Carbon Trust to implement the energy reduction project, which enabled the installation of energy efficient heating controls, as well as presence and light level controls. Inefficient lighting was also replaced.
Chris Norburn, managing director of NCS, said: “The club was able to operate as usual during the implementation of new systems and the installation was carried out with the minimum of disruption.”
“We initially aimed to reduce energy spend by 15%, giving a return on investment within two years. However, we have completely exceeded this target and the golf club will see a return on investment within just 18 months. This result underpins our endeavours to deliver tangible bottom-line improvements at all times.”
