£500k Castle Street office renovation completes

Castle Street, Liverpool

A £500,000 project to revitalise and refresh a Grade II listed building in Liverpool city centre has been completed.

Kilpatrick Property Group has completed an extensive rolling programme of works at 10-18 Castle Street, following its acquisition of the property in 2008.

The work has involved infrastructure improvements on the stonework and windows to maintain the building’s historic integrity and improvements to the buildings facilities.

Alasdair Irvine, property acquisitions director, said: “What we have done is create something more in the style of a boutique hotel than a regular office building, but without sacrificing the traditional strengths of the building in what is a conservation area.

“We have been delighted by the work carried out by Wirral-based interiors specialists Crave ID on the common areas and atrium that really set the building apart.”

Kilpatrick has attracted occupiers such as FRD Risk Solutions to the building as works have progressed and believes its approach in offering `virtual’ freeholds has worked well.

“Where we have been successful is in selling units on long leases of 250 years which is something that isn’t common in the Liverpool office market,” said Mr Irvine.

“The unit sizes have also proved attractive and we believe that will continue to be the case with the accommodation we are currently marketing in what is an exceptional location at the heart of the city’s business district.”

The office accommodation currently available includes a ground floor rear suite of 1,900 sq ft, and a second floor refurbished suite of 1,750 sq ft and a third floor suite of 1,000 sq ft.
