Bedford becomes Deloitte’s public sector lead

DELOITTE has appointed Simon Bedford as lead partner for the firm’s public sector practice across the North West.

Mr Bedford, who heads Drivers Jonas Deloitte’s economic development consultancy arm in the region, already has a high profile among public sector leaders in the region, having carried out advisory work for many public bodies.

Deloitte said that his new role would enhance the service it can offer to existing public sector clients such as Manchester City Council, the University of Manchester and Greater Manchester Police.

He replaces previous sector head, Mark Lawrie, who now leads the firm’s public sector practice nationwide.

Mr Bedford said: “Public sector practice is a substantive and growing business for Deloitte in the North West, with the team reaching £8m in revenue in 2011 and working with some of the region’s largest public sector organisations.”
