Manufacturer sees demand grow

MANUFACTURER Conductix-Wampfler UK is reporting healthy order growth in the first quarter of this year.
Reflecting a much-improved national trend, the group, which has its UK base in Salford, said its order input for January to March was at £1.6m – up from £1.1m in Q1 2011.
Conductix-Wampfler is a world leader in the production of energy and data transmission systems for mobile machinery such as industrial cranes.
At its Salford base it makes a numbe rof products which are supplied to the rail, automation, mining, utility and port sectors.
Managing director Alan Jones said: “We are extremely pleased to have started the year with such positive growth. This has provided us with real momentum and a solid platform to continue to drive sales into the second quarter and throughout the year.
“We are experiencing high levels of demand across all the sectors we operate in and export sales remain a core part of the business.”
He said sales growth was particularly good in the Middle East, while closer to home, a number of contracts in the domestic ports sector, including work in Southampton and at the Humber Refinery, have been won.
