Hotel hoping for Four in a Bed bookings boom

LANCASHIRE’s Whitehall Hotel in Darwen, is hoping for a boom in visitor numbers after starring in a television programme.

The hotel’s owners Neil and Tracy Bullows are featuring on the popular Channel 4 tea-time programme ‘Four in a Bed’ on Thursday, and are hoping the publicity from the show will generate new business and showcase recent upgrades made to the hotel’s 16 bedrooms.

Backed by Barclays, the Whitehall has completed a major refurbishement project in all its bedrooms.

Proprietor Neil Bullows said, “We were very excited when we were selected to take part in the Channel 4 programme. There is always an element of risk but with the recent improvements we’ve made upgrading the bedrooms we were confident the other contestants would thoroughly enjoy their stay at the Whitehall Hotel.

“Our aim is to continue expanding the business over the next few years with the continued support of Barclays, who are an integral part of our future growth plans.”

Phil Johnson, senior Barclays business manager said, “”Trading in the current environment hasn’t been easy for many businesses in the hotel sector but Neil and Tracy are proving they have the appetite and confidence to invest and are well positioned for further growth.”

The Four In a Bed concept pits the owners of  small hotels or B&B’s against each other. All stay at each other’s properties and then decide how much of the total asking price they will pay.
