Kuits advises Corrie writers

LAW firm Kuits Solicitors has advised ITV Granada and the writers of Coronation Street on some of the soap’s recent storylines.
Lisa Kemp, head of Family at the Manchester firm, assisted writers with the story surrounding Steve MacDonald seeking advice on an annulment for his marriage to Tracy, and more recently advised on the plot around Leanne Barlow’s application for a residence order for her estranged husband Peter’s son Simon.
Previously Kuits has been asked Corrie’s writers to assist with the authenticity of other storylines – it has given advice relating to licensing, employment and wills and probate in recent years.
Executive partner Robert Levy said, “It is a great privilege that we have been asked to assist the scriptwriters. The show is a national treasure with millions of followers and we admire the writers’ desire to produce accurate material for the show and its viewers.”
Lisa Kemp added, “These storylines represent real life situations which affect everyday lives. I never thought that being a family lawyer would have led to advising Corrie scriptwriters. It is definitely a career highlight.”
