Envestors and MMU offer fast funding course

BUSINESS angels network Envestors NW has teamed up with Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) to offer courses aimed at entrepreneurs looking for investment.

The Fast Forward Funding Programme has been created to help more businesses secure the finance they need for growth. The three-day programme will be led by Envestors NW mentor Peter Collins and MMU enterprise fellow Jonathan Lawson, who is also director of the university’s Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Programme. It comprises guidance on producing a comprehensive business plan, presentation coaching and the chance to pitch in front of investors on the final day.

The organisations said the programme is the result of research which identified that businesses seeking finance were badly prepared for the investment process, with 65% of all applications disregarded in the first 30 minutes of investor scrutiny.
Mr Collins said: “I remember having a great business idea and very little money.

Trying to find investment for the business was very frustrating and costly. It took us 18 months and cost us £50,000.

“It is a pleasure to be part of the Fast Forward Funding Programme and to help entrepreneurs access suitable funding routes in the fastest and most cost-effective way possible.”

A scholarship fund for FFFP places is available.
