Green light for Ellis Whittam expansion

ELLIS Whittam, the Cheshire-based employment law and health and safety adviser, is expanding its head office amid continued growth.

The company, launched by former Aaron Partners’ head of employment Mark Ellis in 2004, offers fixed fee advice to SMEs, competing with the Done brothers’ Peninsula Business Service, Citation and Bibby Consulting and Support.

Based at Aldford, on the Duke of Westminster’s estate in Chester, Ellis Whittam says income has grown 30% in the last year, underpinning its investment in a 7,500 sq ft office expansion, for which it has just gained planning approval.

The company, which has more than 100 staff, advises a range of clients including the British Independent Retail Association and West Cheshire College.

Chief executive Deven Thakrar, said: “2012 is set to be a really exciting year for the business as the development of our new office building is completed.

“We hope that the new facility will help us to better support our existing colleagues and hopefully attract the high calibre candidates we are looking for to help us grow our business further.”
