Thomson to fly Boeing’s Dreamliner from Manchester

THOMSON Airways, the first UK airline to fly Boeing’s new 787 Dreamliner, will operate the aircraft from Manchester Airport once it takes delivery of the craft next year.

The company will fly Thomson and First Choice passengers to Sanford in Florida and Cancun, Mexico, when it begins operating the Dreamliner next year.

Chris Browne, managing director of Thomson Airways, said: “As the UK’s third largest airline, it is a major coup for Thomson Airways to be the first UK airline to fly the Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

“We are thrilled to be flying the aircraft in our Summer 2013 flying programme from Manchester– giving holidaymakers in the North of England the chance to travel on this amazing new aircraft.”

Andrew Harrison, chief operating officer for the Manchester Airports Group, said: “Thomson Airways is one of our longest-serving, most popular airlines and we are delighted that they have chosen to operate the revolutionary 787 Dreamliner from Manchester next year.

“There’s already been huge public interest in its visit next week, which I am sure will help to boost sales for Thomson’s Summer 2013 programme.”
