Cheshire Oaks sees strong Easter sales

THE Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet near Ellesmere Port has reported strong year-on-year increases in footfall and sales over Easter.
The shopping centre, owned by US group McArthurGlen, said sales over the four-day Easter holiday were 14.7% up on 2011 and and footfall by 20.4%.
Demand was highest for designer clothes and accessories as well as home furnishings. The Easter results follow steady quarterly UK sales growth for
McArthurGlen Cheshire Oaks. Sales of designer collections gained significant momentum over the quarter and increased by +82.45% year-on-year from Boxing Day to March 18.
Shaun Rhodes, marketing manager at McArthurGlen Cheshire Oaks, said: “With a leading offering of more than 145 designer and high street brands, we are in a strong position to capitalise on the growing number of shoppers seeking the best fashion for less.
“Consumers today are looking to invest their money in top quality products. Our fashion offering spans from Pringle and Osprey, to French Connection and Ted Baker providing consumers with premium fashion at up to 60% less.”
Retail analyst Nick Bubb said: “UK fashion retailers have been helped by good early spring weather and an earlier Easter this year, but these notably strong trading results from McArthurGlen go beyond such timing issues and clearly show that the designer outlet market is continuing to significantly outperform the national average.”
