PD Welch wired for success in Widnes

ELECTRICAL contractor Peter D Welch has been appointed to deliver a complete electrical installation project at a new £6m care scheme in Widnes.
The Birkenhead firm, which is part of the SeaKing Electrical Group, is working on a six month project at the Halton Housing Trust development on Liverpool Road, Widnes.
The scheme, named Naughton Fields comprises 47 two bedroom apartments.
PD Welch’s role includes design, build, installation and project management. The project ranges from general wiring and lighting to the installation of warden call, fire alarm and CCTV systems.
Its team will also be further responsible for delivering an environmentally- friendly lighting scheme for the outside gardens and car park.
The Halton Housing Trust development will cater for people who are 55 and over with a mix of care and support needs.
As well as apartments for sale and rent, the development will include facilities such as a lounge and bistro area, office space, a hair and beauty salon and spa and therapy areas.
Neil Mellenchip, business development manager at SeaKing Group said: “This project will see us delivering a variety of electrical solutions right across the site from the bedrooms and bistro to the hair and beauty salon and multi-function lounge room.
“The scale and scope of this work really demonstrates our ambition at Peter D Welch. We have the skills, resources and experience to be able to carry out large-scale, long-term projects. And we hope this latest success will act as a springboard to secure further work in this sector.”
The Widnes development is being funded by the Homes and Communities Agency and Halton Borough Council.
