Businesses look to boost Cavern Quarter’s appeal

BUSINESSES in Liverpool’s Cavern Quarter have formed a stakeholders’ group to help improve the appeal of the area.

The group, which includes representatives from Liverpool Vision, Hope University and the city’s Business Improvement District, is looking to mirror initiatives elsewhere in the city such as Baltic Triangle and Ropewalks where businessses have come together to help improve their appeal.

Matt Biagetti, Liverpool Vision’s area investment manager, said: “The Cavern Quarter is top of the tourists’ must-see Liverpool sights and we need to make more of its appeal, its heritage, while improving its look.

“This collaboration is the first step to develop a cohesive and mutually-beneficial strategy to promote and maximise the area’s potential. By working together we believe we can make the Cavern Quarter the place it deserves to be.”

Gregory Abrams, senior partner for law firm Gregory Abrams Davidson, said: “The meeting clearly demonstrated Cavern Quarter’s creative and quirky character with lots of ideas bouncing around.

“Ideas included pop-up shops, street markets and performance spaces. University representatives then suggested that these ideas could offer a great way to showcase students’ creative goods and talent.

“There is a real understanding between stakeholders in the areas and a will to make this work.”

The next meeting planned by the stakeholders’ group will take place on June 13, where members will begin to develop an action plan for the area.
