Energetix reveals free boiler plan

GREEN energy group Energetix is planning to offer consumers free boilers as part of a bold new business model.

The Capenhurst, Cheshire-based group, which raised more than £4m in a placing in February to fund growth, said customers would receive a free Kingston microCHP boiler – and would pay only for installation.

They would have to commit to a long-term energy supply deal too.

In a statement ahead of its annual eresults next Tuesday the AIM-listed company said: ” Our new business model revolves around the strategy of the offering of a free gas boiler to customers – or more accurately “a boiler that pays for itself”.

“We will provide a price promise along the lines of, for example, being no more expensive than the least expensive of the standard tariffs of the big six energy suppliers.

“Customers only pay for installation of the boiler and not the boiler itself thus offering significant savings.”

The company, led by chief executive Adrian Hutchings, said it expects the offer will generate strong consumer demand – an initial online advertising campaign to gauge interest was ended after only one week because interest was so high.
