Forrest lands spot on £130m framework

PRESTON-based contractor Forrest has won a place on a £130m framework agreement put together by regional social housing consortium Procure Plus.

The Procure Plus framework was set up by a group of social housing landlords to allow them to achieve better value from contractors when building new homes.

Forrest said its appointment to the framework was the latest in a series of similar wins, including a place on a £480m framework for social housing projects in the North East and North Yorkkshire. Thus far in 2012, it has been appointed as one of a group of contractors on frameworks worth over £1bn.

In order to deliver the work, the company has made a number of new appointments including a head of pre-construction & technical services, a new-build director of frameworks, a planner and a design and build co-ordinator.

Chief executive Lee McCarren said: “Social housing new build activity in our core markets in the North of England remains buoyant and we have continued to secure places on major frameworks across the northern regions. As a result we are strengthening our team to meet future demand.”
