Timpson to deliver retail masterclass

JOHN Timpson, chairman of Manchester-based Timpson Group, is to deliver a free masterclass to 50 new retail managers at Manchester Business School next month.

The half-day masterclass event on July 18 is organised by retail sector charity The Retail Trust.

Mr Timpson will talk about his own experience in the sector and give tips to up-and-coming managers. Also speaking at the even will be Retail Trust chief executive Nigel Rothband, who spent 30 years in the sector working for organisations such as bhs, Topshop and Body Shop.

Mr Timpson said: “I’m delighted to be working with Retail Trust to help guide first time managers in Manchester. Attendees can expect my session to be lively, interactive and practical. We will share insights and help attendees from big and small retailers to apply learning back to their work in the industry.”
